DURABLE AND EASY TO CLEAN
The Saville Sports Center needed a solution that would be able to withstand high amounts of traffic and still be easy to clean. Polished concrete was selected for its low maintenance nature, requiring only minimal cleaning and no waxing. Desco does not use any resinous chemicals to make the floor more shiny because they wear and scratch very easily and quickly. At the Saville, we sealed and densified the floor to make it even more durable. We also patched all the small cracks that occur naturally as the concrete cures, providing a blemish free surface.
To make the floor stand out, we applied a dye to the concrete in certain areas to add some life to the floor. The floor was ground to a ‘salt and pepper’ finish; meaning that only the small aggregate and sand in the concrete show.
