Desco is proud to announce that we are the 2014 Concrete Surfaces Polishing Award recipient for the best commercial project for our polished concrete at the Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre in Edmonton. At the recreation centre, Desco polished approximately 23,500 square feet of concrete to a Class B Level 4 (salt-and-pepper depth with a high gloss) finish. The concrete polishing was throughout the main walkways and entryways, the feature stairs, a feature wall, benches, and some of the columns.
Polishing the walls and columns proved to be quite the challenge in order to fill all the pockets and bug-holes in the concrete in order to match the floor. But in the end, the LEED Silver project achieved our goal of providing a high-quality solution to the City of Edmonton and the users of the recreation centre.
Concrete Construction magazine is a trade specific magazine for the residential and commercial design and construction industry.
