Safety - Desco

SAFETY

Desco is committed to the health, wellness, and safety program that protects our employees, our property, and that of others, the general public, and the environment. The health and well being of our employees is and shall remain the primary concern in all phases of our projects. As such, we require daily hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, regular staff safety meetings, and an incident/near miss review process. Safety shall never be compromised in the name of productivity; putting our employees at risk is a no-win situation.

To demonstrate our commitment, we maintain an up-to-date safety manual and have our COR (Certificate Of Recognition) certification issued by the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA.). Personnel is kept current on their first aid and CPR training and are required to attend regular safety meetings. We have an on-staff NCOS safety officer who regularly reviews all incidents and near misses; identifying and correcting any hazards that are occurring.

Employees at every level, including management, are responsible and accountable for the company’s overall safety initiatives. Complete and active participation by everyone, every day, in every job is necessary for the safety excellence the company expects. Management supports coordination of safety among all workers on the job site, participation in the program by all employees, and provides proper equipment, training, and procedures. Employees are responsible for following all procedures, working safely, and wherever possible, improving safety measures.
